The Façade Inspector (FI) plays a very vital role to support the Competent Person (CP) to carry out in-particular emphasis close-range tactile inspection of the building façade. The FI must be a Registered Technical Officer or any person who prosses the relevant qualifications and experience as recognised by BCA. Defects will be recorded, and any unsafe conditions immediately flag up to CP.
In the case where the inspection, be carried out by rope access, the FI will be required to be certified by the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA).
The Professional Engineer (PE) is responsible for the overall building inspection plan and assessment of the inspection findings. Designated as a Competent Person (CP), he is registered Civil or Structural Engineer under the Professional Engineer’s Board. Alternatively, he may also be a registered Architect.
